Full Project Details

If you are the weekend warrior or just want to save some money on your soapstone countertops we offer the complete DIY program that includes all the tools, equipment, blades, sanding equipment, epoxies, and most importantly a DIY consultation and training program to make your DIY project a breeze. Soapstone installation is easy as can be! Since soapstone can be cut in a smaller slab size, the weight allows it to be easily moved into position by a minimum of two people. Soapstone slabs can be cut and worked with an everyday circular saw or router. Edges are finished by hand or with your average wood working tools.

Our recommendation for your soapstone DIY project would be to give us a call or send us an email and schedule a DIY project consultation absolutely free of charge. Here is what our professional consultation will provide:

  • Step 1: First, we want to go over your soapstone countertop project and make sure that it is practical for a DIY application. We want to make sure you are comfortable with the DIY process before we proceed to Steps 2-4. We have had dissatisfied DIY customers contact us and were disappointed in their DIY project. They had read on the internet about how easy the DIY process was and bought their soapstone on line and realized after the fact that the project was more difficult than they initially thought. So, before we talk about purchasing anything we want to make sure you are comfortable with the project and the work that goes into it. When both of us are comfortable with the DIY process we will move on to step 2.
  • Step 2: Project take off and amount of soapstone needed to complete your project. During this 30 minute consultation we will do a take off of your project and see how many slabs and what size slabs are needed to complete your project. Also we will go over seam placements and setting your sink properly.
  • Step 3: Stone selection. We will at this point go into our stone warehouse and educate you on all the soapstone types and colors we have and have you choose the one that will look the best in your kitchen. Once you have selected the perfect color for your kitchen or bathroom we will be able to get you a final price for your project.
  • Step 4: Is the DIY program a good fit for your project? At this point you can make a decision on whether the DIY program is a good fit for your project or not. At this point many people decide it is a good fit and move forward to purchase their stone and accessories to complete their DIY project. However, if you decide that the DIY program is not a good fit for your project we can then recommend a professional soapstone fabricator in your area where you can get pricing for the professional soapstone fabricator to do the complete project for you. It is your choice at this point. We just want to make sure that you are making the best decision for your project and you are comfortable with your decision.
