If you are looking to install a soapstone counter or even a soapstone countertop, doing it yourself can be very intimidating. Not to worry, below is a guide to help you to get started in transforming your project into a much more manageable one.

Here are the steps to measuring for that new soapstone countertop:

1. To begin the process you’ll need to locate a Pencil, Ruler and a Tape measure.
2. Use the last page (Sketch Sheet) or a blank piece of paper to draw a rough sketch of your soapstone counter top space that you want to use for the project.
3. Measure and note, in inches, all of the dimensions of your existing/ desired counter top.  If your counter includes angles that are grater or less than 90⁰ then measure and note those angles as well. *In the example below the arrows [           ] represent all of the measurements needed to make an accurate quote.
4. once you have the measurements, next is to figure out which kind of soapstone you would like to use. You can see some examples of soaptone slabs in our soapstone gallery.
